Dear Members,

I am new developer of BOE CMC; I am trying to modify destination tab values of existing schedule report in CMC, which is already set with To, From email address; I added some new email ids and removed as well and click on update; But when i checked in History tab of same report, it does not refected, it is all showing previous values not updated one.

Can you please tell me how to update existing schedule report information without deleting old one and creating new one option.

Thanks a lot in advance
MSP

Hi,
IIRC, a scheduled instance is 'fixed' and cannot be modified - schedule a new instance with the new destinations and delete the old one.

MSP,

You're setting the default values, which doesn't affect existing schedules. Like TurkBear said you have to re-schedule the report. To do this:
1. Go to History and select the item with a status of "Recurring".
2. Click on the "Actions" menu and select "Reschedule".
3. Click on "Destination" and make your updates.
4. Click on "Replace" and select to replace the existing schedule. (I don't remember whether this option is available in XI r2 and below, but I know it's in 3.1 - if you don't see it, you'll have to delete the original schedule.)
5. Click on "Schedule".

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.

Thanks Turkbear and Dell for your reply.

Yes i am using XI R2.

I am looking for some better solution instead of doing it all over again, but it seems there is limitation with CMC XI R2 because of object & instance model.

Thanks

When you schedule a report, it creates an instance with the status "recurring". That instance holds a copy of the report template and all of the information about the scheduled. So, the ONLY way to change the email addresses or any other properties for a scheduled instance is to reschedule it. Also, when you update a report template, you have to create a new schedule in order to have it run the updated version of the report - rescheduling the existing recurring instance will run the version of the report that is in the original schedule, not the new version.
