I'm trying to connect a 50A in one of our remote offices
in another country to a ethernet LAN.
The ISP in the remote office had set it up to be connected
to a standalone PC and I need to reconfigure it for LAN access.
Current configuration is:
Chan Usage=Leased/Unused
My Name=xxxxxx (assigned by ISP)
My Addr=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (class C assigned by ISP)
Rem Name=xxxx
Rem Addr=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (class C assigned by ISP)
Encaps=PPP
Mux Type=ATM-LLC
Vpi=0
Vci=35
Route=IP
Bridge=No
Send Auth=PAP
Send PW=*SECURE*
Rece Auth=None
Recv PW=N/A
Front End Bal=UpStrm-Boost
Trellis=Yes
Line Code=Ansi DMT
It is very difficult to get hold of the ISP support guys in
the remote office. On the one occasion we managed to speak
to them, we were told that IP address in My Addr is the
static public address of the router. IP address in Rem Addr points to the NAS at the ISP end.
Our remote office LAN uses private address 192.168.60.x
Don't I have to assign a private address and enable NAT
on the router?
And where do I enter this information in the router?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
