CE10 Page Server Memory Leak

We are running CE10 on a central CMS (no clustering of the CMS) centralized Page and Cache Servers (2 of each on the central box) with distributed Job Servers on seperate boxes.

The OS is Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1. 3.00 GB RAM dual processor.

We ahve an issue that we have been unable to resolve related to our page servers not releasing memory. They peak at about 700MB per Page Server and then effectively hang. We have activated traces to no avail.

Any ideas?

You are experiencing a limitation of the software - we too experience the same thing - and at times I have to stop and start the pageservers (we have 3) periodically through the day depending on usage.

We have tried everything from modifying timeout times to replacing the RAM chips in the server (this helped somewhat - reduced the number of resets of pageservers but did not eliminate the problem.)

Solution - (hopefully) - upgrade to BOEXIR2 - as the pageservers are different and use pageserver child processes - similar to the Job Server in CE10.

I hope this sheds some light for you - you are not alone!

Cheers

Hi Paulmarr,

Thanks for the feedback, our workaround at the moment is a series of scheduled tasks restarting the services in a rotating cycle..ie take one down at a time using a BAT file. It works relatively ok but of course would prefer not to have to. Here is the content of one of the BAT files that is executed for your use if you please.

kill -f pageserver.exe
Net STOP "Crystal Cache Server"
Net STOP "Crystal Page Server"

Net START "Crystal Cache Server"
Net START "Crystal Page Server"

Upgrade to BOEXIR2 is on the calendar but we have a lot of CSP and customized front-ends so not a simple path for us.

Thanks

Brent
