CE10 Error after CRXI 1

I have been working happily with CR & CE 10 on a stand alone training machine until I installed CR XI, now when I try to get to the User launchpad I get the following error message "There was an error retrieving data from the server: Automation server can't create object"

I have uninstalled CR XI but I'm still getting the same message, any idea on what it means and how to get rid of it?
