Here's the error message when I attempt to schedule a report to an e-mail destination:

======================================================

Status: Failed

External Destination: Mail the instance to " Doug Nordin " with a subject of " ".

Start Time: 1/2/2003 2:25:29 PM

End Time: 1/2/2003 2:25:30 PM

Server Used: CRYSTAL.report

Error Message: login error. CrystalEnterprise.Smtp: SMTP_E_AUTH_REQUIRED(530)

======================================================

My Sysadmin has been working on this aspect of CE setup, but I was hoping someone else has been here and done this, to save some debugging effort.

======================================================

Here's the Destination setup in our CE 8.5 configuration:

Domain Name: mydomain.com
Server Name: exchange1
Port: 25
Authentication: None Plain Login
SMTP User Name: domain\SA
SMTP Password: ********
From: SInfo@mycompany.com
To:
Cc:
Subject:
Message:

File Name:
Default File Name (randomly generated)

Thanks for your help!
Doug

I don't think that you need the domain name in the SMTP User Name.

I'm away from the office this morning, I'll check later and forward you my settings if this doesn't resolve.

Make sure that you can use SMTP on your local Exchange Server.

We didn't use the SMTP User name or password and the e-mail works fine. We send the e-mails from a generic CE account. You may not need any of the SMTP setup. The server just has to be able to use SMTP protocol. What kind of mail system are you running? We are running Novell Groupwise so this may not be setup the same was as MS.

Thanks for your help.

Here's what we ended up with on our SMTP setup in CE:

Domain Name: mydomain.com
Server Name: mail.mydomain.com
Port: 25
Authentication: None Plain Login
SMTP User Name: domain\SA
SMTP Password: ********
From: SInfo@mycompany.com
To:
Cc:
Subject:
Message:

File Name:
Specified File Name: %SI_NAME%.rpt
Add placeholder for a variable property: Title
