CE 11 - RAS Hangs

I have installed CE 11 in java environment (Tomcat). Recently I have started facing problem with CE,

RAS server in CE 11 suddenly hangs, during this time our application also stops responding. Our application is running on Tomcat which comes with CE 11 installation.

If I check the the status of RAS in "Central Configuration Manager" it says RAS is running and red icon is shown for RAS in "Central Management Console".

After restarting RAS from Central Configuration Manager (couldn't restart with Central Management Console), and also restarting tomcat our application starts working fine.

Please let me know if anyone is facing similar problem and reason for the same.
 
We've had the same problem since version 10, servers shut down or stop responding no matter how we configure it, no resolution as yet.
 
We have had the same "sporadic shut down" issue in both our CE-8.5 and CE-10 environments with our Page, Cache and CMS services.

The desktop "Central Configuration Manager" it says the service is running - but red icon is shown for the service in "Central Management Console". Only resolution is to kill the service (which is often at 100% of CPU) in Task Manager and restart in CCM.

It happens maybe twice a month, but we use mutliple CE servers/services and OpenView to monitor the sessions and alert us when one goes down/hangs. Our users don't get any errors, but we have to do the whole KILL / RESTART process.
 
I wish our problem was that mild, ours hang as soon as more than one or two users request reports in on demand mode, we cannot restart the services, only a reboot resets them, then it happens again almost immediately. We are not using it and are trying to determine what to do next.
 
Is it a known problem of RAS or Business Objects is not aware of this?
 
We're in the same boat! And BO (appropriate) won't even answer the phone anymore, so there's your answer!
