when formating a CDRW the drive formats to 98% then stop and gives this error code for any UDF format program.
can anyone tell me what this error code is:
"hardware error: 0051-0004-0009-0000"

is that problem happening with only the 1 cdrw disk or any cdrw disk that you try?

any CDRW disk and 2 different Burners
same 1 gig pentuim 3 gateway motherboard
256 megs ram

I've never seen that one before, but I would try this: In your burning software, slow the write speed down to the slowest it will go (1x). If it works, increment speeds slowly until you get the error then burn under that speed. If you still have problems, post the writer model and make here.

Some CD burners (HP 8100i,one sony and others) can not use the 80 minutes, only 78. You have to update the firmware.

good luck
