CDROM and Floppy not accessible except in DOS

In Windows Normal Mode, CDROM not accessible from CD-R created on another computer and Floppy disk not accessible.
Seems to read original application CDs.
Will read CDROM and Floppy disks in DOS using WIN98 Startup disk.

Device Manager shows no conflicts and lists CDROM as "_LG CDR CRD84008",Using Win98SE on Gateway 400C, Celeron, 64MB.

There are viruses that will cause this behavior. Grab a virus checker, such as

http://www.f-prot.com

which you can get a DOS version of it.

Shoot, I changed the CDROM which was very warm to the touch and solved the problem.
Thanks for the help Dakota81 as I did a complete virus scan which I should have done first. None found but good precaution anyway.
