thanks JTDUBAI, This is what we have now ,the CDR serial port is connected to the external call acount system, but my question is what if this system become down or the pabx lost the connection with it, and after Hours the system return back working , in this case can i get all the cdr data from the pabx and send them at once to the call acount system ???
If the call accounting is down there is no buffer. You will need to install a separate external Buffer device so that it could store the CDR whnever the call accounting or PC is down.
There is a buffer on the CS1000 that can be used for CDR or traffic data. See the Data Buffering and Access feature in the Telephony Manager administration guide.
It is normally used in conjunction with TM DBA function but the CDR file can be used in another call accounting system.
It may also be possible to transfer the buffer files directly from the CS1000 periodically using XMODEM.
Probably not worth the effort to set up as a backup only.
Dear StanleySteamer (TechnicalUser),
This is incase you have TM installed with call accounting license in it .
Do you have any info on a normal tty port CDR internal buffer in Cs1K ?.As far as I know there isnt any.
Any further info on this will be highly appreciated.
No, you are correct, there is no buffer on the serial ports that can be used.
But, I don't think you necessarily need the call accounting license in TM to make use of DBA for CDR. You could still save the CDR to the TM server and use a 3rd party accounting package. I have not done this but it appears possible according to docs.
Still not much use to krasemir.
I have seen and used a product called an MDR-2000 used to collect data from a serial port. The data then be collected at a future date. They usually had enough memeory for a weeks worth of data.Aslo used with OTM
