Greetings.
Really dont undertand why the information on the cdr database is static for a long time mean while I can see the recorded information on flats in the cdr folder. So would like to know what can be done in order for the records to be inserted directly to the cdr database.
thanks, Mirdassou

There is a parameter in the CDR Enterprise Parameters called CDR File Time Interval that determines how long it takes for the CDR records to be read into the database. Valid values are 0 to 1440 minutes. Check your value and set according to what you need. Default is 2 minutes. Seems like 2 hours when you're looking for who just dialed 911 and hung up. :)

thanks for the reply. The cdr file time interval is set to 1 but the funny think is that ai can see the flat file for this morning calls, but nothing to be seen in the cdr database. I can say that no information have been recorded into the CDR database over a long period of time
Should ai trim the cdr database? One thing also is that I did realise that the drive containing the cdr flat file is full. Is there any downside to this?
Thanks and hoping to get a reply.

There are a couple other places to enable CDR. Look under the service paramters for the CDR enble flag default is False and the Call Diagnostic Flag, default is False. Set these both to True.
Downside of a full disk is a CCM crash. To trim the CDR database, install the CAR plug-in and there is a place in there to purge the data after a specified period of time. I don't have a system in front of me so I can't tell you exactly where in CAR this parameter is but it's not hard to find.

thanks for your time. Checked under the service paramters and saw that the CDR enble flag and the Call Diagnostic Flag parameters are both set to true. Really, cant figure out what is going on.
What could be the easiest thing to do? would re-installing the system help?
Thanks.

What version of CCM are you running? What are you using to look at the database?

Version 4 is the version of the CCM. And I use sql enterrpise manager to view the records in the cdr database.
Thanks

Install the CAR plug-in in CCM and see if you see the records. Set up a User in CCM and when you first Login use admin/admin and set your CCM user up with Administrator Rights.

hey
the car plus-in is already install and dont seem to find the solution to why records are shown on the flat file but no inserted to the cdr database.
So decided to add space to the driver containing the flats files and will truncate the cdr database and see if there is gonna be any change. (do u think its necessary?).
Since I once said that am developing a VOIP billing software, cant find the ldap database which contains the diary (i.e list of users name, directory number, department ...).
When a new user is added to the system, wanna know to which table it goes as those are the kinds of information that ai cant find.
Thanks for ur time.

Did you enable the "Cisco CDR Insert" service under the Service Activation page for the publisher? It can be left disabled on the subs.

the cisco cdr insert service is activated and cant seem to find the solution.
