CDR question

I have a buffer box that has stopped collecting calls so I want to verify that CDR is coming out of the TTY that has been plugged in to it. I have verified that CDR is turned on on all the routes. I have verified that CDR_DATA has port 4 set, and verified that tty4 is set for cty.

I tried plugging in a laptop with procomm on it and set my terminal to match the tty 7-E-1 and it won't connect. What am I missing?

Log into another TTY, and go into LD 37:
.STAT TTY

See if TTY 4 shows disabled. Have you noticed any IOD040 errors lately? (That's off the top of my head, if memory is correct... too lazy to look up the error msg hehe).

If it shows disabled, do:
.ENL TTY 4

Are you sure the TTY 4 is set to 7-E-1, and have you got the baud rate right? Have you tried with and without a null-modem?

I have disabled and enabled the tty a few times and that doesn't correct it. There are no errors coming out of it.

I have set up cdr successfully on one of my pseudo tty's. I also changed it to another cable of the octopuss cable tried to set it up on tty 5.

your comment on Octopuss cable leads me to beleave this is an Option 11 - however TTY 4 is not one of the defaults off a SSC octopuss cable

Will you print TTY and post - might help us knowing SDI type.

If you are on a Opt 11, - you will most likely need a null modem.
