Hi Everyone,

I've just bought a 2611XM and it's doing a couple of strange things. One is that a Show CDP Neighbours command from another router shows a "S" meaning that it's a switch not a router.

If this significant?

Also, it keeps insisting that there is a duplex mismatch with an ADSL router on the LAN, although both are Full-duplex, all it could be is a speed mismatch as the 837 ADSL is 10MB, is this anything to worry about?

Thanks for your expertise...

Ray

Is there a 4-port or 16-port Ethernet switching module installed?

Sounds like you are hooked to a switch card that is installed in the 2611xm in which case what cdp is reporting is true. Most of the dsl modems I have seen are 10/half only in which case you do have a mismatch and this will slow down the link a lot . Make the router lan connection 10/half to and see if the messages go away.

There's no cards or modules attached, it's just using the onboard FastEthernet Ports.

I'll try the speed setting though....
