I am trying to use CDP's to route phone numbers to an outside trunk. If I have a station X1234 and program the TN to forward off site by putting the AC1 code plus NXX plus XXXX the call works fine. However if I try to delete X1234 and build it as a CDP pointing to a Rout list that contains a DGT table deleting 0 and inserting 9XXX pointing to the outside trunk I get a busy. The reason I am doing this is because people are moving from one building to another and they are keeeping there same numbers. The problem is that they are doing this over a 6 month period so the DID range is being ported to the Trunks at the new building a few at a time.I can go with forwarding the TN's but think it would be cleaner to use CDP's.

Thanks

Since you are pointing it to a route you do not need to insert the 9 just insert the NXX.

As tnphoneman said, you do not need to insert 9 before the NXX-XXXX, because you are delivering the call to a ROUT in the RLI. However, if you set the LTER to YES on the route entry (ENTR), then the call would pass back through the translator and would need the 9 inserted.

Doing this would allow you to force the CDP to use the same requirements for dialing (and same alternate routing) as the AC1 NXX entry.

Note, you cannot send a call through the same translator more than once. (i.e., you cannot locally terminate (LTER) an NXX and re-direct it to another NXX in the same AC1, you will get fast busy). The reason you cannot deliver a call to the same translator more than once is to prevent infinite loops in ESN routing when using LTER.

Thanks .I tried just putting the NXX without the AC1 code and still got a busy. I took another look at the DGT index and changed the CTYP from unknown to CDP and now it works.

Thanks, Steve
