I have a problem with using Email with CDO on XP machine. It gave me an OLE error something about can't connect to server. I did check to make sure the CDO install on this machine. On another identical XP machine I install IIS, then it works fine. Does anyone know what driver is CDO need for XP and where need to install it too...
Thank You
cuong.

I believe you require this file installed and registered in windows\system32 CDOSYS.DLL.

Thanks Mike;
that's what I thought too... I did check to make sure that CDOSYS.DLL under the windows\system32 directory... Could not figuered it out... IIS must have trigger something to make it to work...
Cuong.

From the folder where CDOSYS.DLL is go to command line prompt and type:

regsvr32 CDOSYS.DLL

if does not work make a copy of CDOSYS.DLL in
the folder where the .asp that calls CDO and
go to command line prompt (in that folder)
and type the same.

OOPS..
THIS WILL WORK NOW - I TESTED !

I did tests on one of my machines using XP

the file you need and is not present
under XP is: CDONTS.DLL

(NOT cdosys.dll as mentioned before!)

DOWNLOAD it from:

and follow the instructions written there!

Almarton;

Hi cnguyen,

Yep, but you don't need it cause CDONTS use ordinary
Outlook default account. So if you have Outlook (even
Outlook Express) running uppon registration of
CDONTS.DLL everything will work fine. Just follow
the instructions in my previous email I guarantee.

Anyway, you do not need to purchase anything
CDONTS is good but if you want perfect and
for free go to (on the download
area) they have a perfect email solution for free...
But you have to go through the documentation that
is large...
