I have some applications that need to be converted from Access2k to AccessXP. These apps use the Microsoft CDO library to send emails. The code to communicate with the library always worked in Access97 and Access2k, in AccessXP I get an error message when I execute the Send method of the Message object:

Run-time error: -2147467259 (80004005)
[Collaboration Data Objects - [E_FAIL(80004005)]]

Can somebody tell me how to solve this ?

thanks,
Hennie

Hi.

Just as an idea, is the reference to the library there? Also, are there any other libraries that share a function with the same name? Eg. ADODB.Recordset and DAO.Recordset are two completely seperate entities with the same name. Make sure that you refer in FULL the library name when calling the function.

Otherwise, are there any newer versions or service packs available to solve the problem?

Regards,

I am sure the reference to the library is there. The data I want to send by email is collected with a dao recordset.
The code worked in access 97 and 2k. When I step through the code in access xp everything works until the Send method is executed.

Is there anybody who has experienced the same problem with XP ?

I am busy with the same subject. I did install the service packs 1 and 2. The same message did appear. A further symptoms is the appearance of the e-mail in the Outbox folder of outlook. The e-mail is not in the Sent Items folder. Maybe someone has now an explanation of what is happening?
