CD Writing

I have done a search of the Internet and these forums but cannot find what I am looking for. Basically I am looking for tips on how to add CD writing/burining capabilities to a visual basic project. The only entry I could find on tek-tips was in Thread222-75416 but this did not help much. I have found activex controls that can be purchased but they are anywhere from £200 - £2000. I don't mind paying if the software I am developing takes off, however I would rather to find a cheaper option or preferably write my own. Any tips would be appreciated.

I am not sure if this will help, but I think that Nero Burning ROM version 5.5 has an API thats allows you to control the burning of CD's etc from within your application.

I celebrated too early, the API was written with C++ in mind. I'm sure it must be possible to use the API's in VB. Does anyone have any ideas.
