All of a sudden (meaning as far as I know nothing has changed) my CD Rom's (I have two, one internal and one external) have started to read the CD's incorrectly. On the cd is a file "this_is_a_file.jpg" lets say. No matter which CD Rom I try to read it from the file becomes "this/is/a/file.jpg" as thus my computer can't read it because of the "/" characters. I can read it properly in a different computer it's just this one that reads the files wrong. Any ideas what's going on?????

Are you sure first of all that it's the drive, and not Windows with the problem?.

Go to Start > Run, type: CMD

At the prompt, type:

dir /s [cd-drive-letter]:\

Do the files show correctly, or with /?
