I have tried installing 2 different CD Burner software packages on Windows NT sp6 system. Adaptec Easy CD version 5.1 and Oak Simpli CD version 6.4. On both, the Software will not run after installation, but instead hangs at the startup splash and locks the system. Neither will exit from Task manager and will only stop when system is shutdown. Any suggestions?

No, aspi drivers weren't installed seperately. However, the problem isn't with the burning per se, but with getting the program to open to start with.

I was thinking that may be because there were no aspi drivers - because it will be trying to detect CD ROM & writer as it starts up, which might cause the hang.

That may be the case, but I just found out an associate working on the problem got a different version of Easy CD creator to install and run as is. Now I just have to find out what she did differently this time.
