I am receiving an XML message with UTF-8 encoding from a Unix machine. I am on OS/390, the CCSID of the message is 1208. My Qmgr is CCSID=500, when I am doing the MQGET with the MQGMO_CONVERT option it is doing the conversion from ASCII to EBCDIC but it does not decode the utf-8 character.

Ex: É is still present in my message data rather than
containing the french character "E" with an accent "É".

Can someone help me!

Have you tried setting the CCSID to 297 when you issue a get for the message? I am not 100% sure but maybe the CCSID of 500 doesn't support the accented French?

297 should support it as it is an actual French code page with Euroconversion support.

I tried and still doesn't work, I will try to make the MCA do the conversion.

Thanks
