I cant find any docs that say much about this and i cant find the R6 matrix. I have a site with CRR on it with 3 agents. we need to have VMPRO one-x and CCR on the same server. will they run together.

I have had it running but after trying to upgrade 1XP it stopped working well.
1XP cannot be upgrade or removed anymore.
But VMPRo and 1XP can run together.
I would run a virtual server on top of it for CCR.

So if the customer will only give up ONE server, and I have Manager on it along with CCR, 1X, and VM Pro.... it would be in my best interest to have it partitioned for each program?

How big should each partition be?

MRoberts

no need to partition, but please, dont run 1XP on the same machine.

the customer will simply insist his new IPO is rubbish and you will be banging your head against the proverbial brick wall

You can:
Run CCR, VM Pro (up to 16 ports,) and CS all on one box.
1XP on its own server, or just run Phone Manager on each machine locally if they cant supply its own machine.

I really wouldnt do it even though it is supported on a modest server.

If you were going to run it all on one box, I would run it all in VM Ware.

I keep wondering about running CCR in vmware on my 6.1 Linux VM/1XP. Would give me another server back to mess with. I just don't have any experience with Linux to start installing stuff. and my 1XP is finally working like a charm on it so don't want to break it!!!!

on the V6.1 Linux system I would sugest Virtual box, the free version sould suffice.

I cangt get hold of V6.1 to play with yet, does the linux server have X running (a full Gui)? seems like a n unnecessary waste of resorces to me.

IPGuru,

Can you tell me what you mean with X ?
When the server starts you get a screen with CentOS but that disappears and you only get a login screen for root access.

Linux systems with a graphical desctop usualy use xwindows which is a client/server model for driving the display
this is the underlying system that the window manager talks too (Gnome,KDE & XFCE are the most common).

It is actualy possible to tunnel X applications over a ssh connection, conect to PC A fron B, run graphical app on A but display on B. Dificult to explain but V cool

if you are just getting a command prompt then X is not running

try downloading Centos & installing on a spare pc if you want to experiment first, it should cost you all of $0.00/£0.00 :)

I have a feeling the next incarnation of one-x, CCR and VM Pro will happily reside side by side on a server with 4GB of RAM (may be subject to number of users on site).

IPGuru,

the Linux appliance is prebuilt with 1XP and VMPro as installable features during the initial installation and configurable from a web front end.

I wouldnt waste any resources running X

So, just hold fire till the 29th and you can download the 6.1 Linux appliance.

works a charm in vmware.

Pepp, I think (& hope) Avayas Next step is to port the CCR server to Linux as well.
then all 3 will install to the same server in one simple process

Microsoft Gives you Windows, Linux gives you the whole house :)
