CCR Tree: caller at Home Menu taken to Attendant Extension too quickly

We have a BCM 400, CallPilot Version 37.01.04.22.

Our main line drops into the Auto-Attendant, where a company greeting is played, followed by the Home message/menu.

The problem I am running into is that when callers don't make a choice, they are almost immediately taken to the Attendant Extension for that greeting table (a user created Operator, not the system created General Delivery or System Manager boxes) which is a Hunt Group.
If no one answers, it goes into voicemail, but it doesn't play the recorded greeting, just the spoken name (even though I replaced the recorded name with the greeting). The spoken name is so short that callers don't realize what's happened and get confused.

So I have a few questions or options on how to stop this from happening:

1. Is there a way to have the Home Menu repeat itself until the caller actually selects something?

2. Is there a way to have an automated system recording come on at the end of the Home Menu, saying something like "I see you have not made a selection, please hit 8 to repeat this menu..." or the call will be disconnected or they go back to the beginning or something.
And if I turn an automated message on here, does it turn it on everywhere? Right now the messages I have recorded in the tree include instructions on which button to push to repeat the menu or go back a menu and so forth. I really only need it here, at the end of the Home message/menu.

3. Why is the mailbox, when accessed this way, playing an old message? When I access this box using the phone, it plays the correct message for the spoken name (I substituted the personal greeting message for the spoken name message for this box), so I'm VERY confused where it's getting other, older message from.

4. Are there any other options available, to stop the call from being taken directly to the Attendant Extension from the Home message/menu?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What I have always done to fix the too-fast transfer to the operator is record the Home menu but don't press "ok" right away. Instead, put your hand over the reciever and let the callpilot record about 15 seconds of dead air after the spoken recording.

You can also record your "I see you haven't made a selection" message this way. Just record the home menu and some dead air and then come on with this message after 15 seconds or so.

The caller will only hear this dead air if when they don't make a selection.

It works great.

Such a simple yet effective solution! Thanks, deelee74!

However, the message played if they do eventually reach the Operator voice mail is still the too-short spoken name, even though I've re-recorded the spoken name (as I state above).

Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening/how I can change that message (even though I thought I already had)?
