We have a customer who recently ported his cell phones from the incumbant carrier to us and kept the same numbers. His phones were tied into a landline Norstar CCR tree with that same incumbant so that when anyone called the office number they were given options to have the calls directed to the cell phones. The cell phone numbers are the same but for whatever reason the calls will no longer connect to the cells -if you press a number, ie.1 which redirects the call to a speciifc cell the system message is "your call cannot be completed". We are still a 7 digit local calling area shortly going to a 10 digit local call so we have tried it both ways.

Of course in talking to the local telco who was the incumbant in this case the problem is on our end. How can it be our end??? The numbers have not changed, they are still local, the phones work perfectly for incoming and outgoing otherwise.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated on solving this.

You probably will have to dial these cell numbers now as 1+ long distance, the new cell company does not have local access (7 digit dialing)like the original cell company did. This will vary with cellular carriers.

Thanks for the input redhammer as I wish you were right but.....the numbers are still local and the calling sequence for calling them is the exact same. They were 306-665-1234(or 665-1234) before and for calling are still 306-665-1234(665-1234), local with no changes.

What ever you can dial from that site manually the system can be programmed to do the same.

"your call cannot be completed"
sounds like a carrier message so it is calling out somehow, just not correctly.

Is your dial string correct? #xxx-xxxx
Try adding some pauses #PPxxx-xxxx
