CCR SQL connection

Hi everyone
I'm stacked with this since a couple of days.
I succesfully installed CCR 3 or 4 times before, but this time can't get the CCR to connect with the SQL Express.
Using Windows 2008 R2 server.
MS SQL Express 2008 R2 in the same server.
IPO 8.1 and CCR 8.1.
Ticketed every single step in the installation guide.
But when it comes to run the CCRsetup it doesn't see the database.
The drop-down list "Database server that you are installing to:" doesn't show anything.
I write (local)\MSSQLSERVER but nothing. always the same error message "Cannot connect to the SQL Server".
Tried different notations (Local), . , localhost, 127.0.0.1, etc. but nothing.
What is wrong with the installation guide is that it says that the Browse button should be disabled, but it's not.
Any suggestions welcome!

Can you connect with MS SQL Management Studio?

Problem solved. Installed SQL Express 2008 instead of 2008R2. Seems CCR 8.1 is not compatible with this last one.
