So we are doing our first CCR Install - customer has CCC and not loving it... we have read the install guidelines on the KB and (obviously) the install of SQL and the other server attributes is critical. Any other practical suggestions? roadblocks you have hit? known/unknown issues? Just need it to go in smoothly and hope to find some guidance for your experiences.

Do not use a domain controller.
I would always try to use a dedicated server with enough horsepower and memory.

Install it by the book and you will be fine.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Same here, use your own server I have used my VM Pro servers before ramp up the ram and HD.

AND FOLLOW THE BOOK......THATS YOUR BEST FRIEND.

my experience would be that the "book" isn't good enough... particularly when it comes to dealing with Server 2008 and SQL2008 Express.

I'd say something stronger but the filters would probably catch me and I'd have to go to confession.

The best present Avaya could give us would be an appliance server version of CCR using some kind of OS database. In fact ALL these external apps should be ported in this manner, IMHO.

Maybe my perspective will change after a large number of installs with this software, but right now it's pretty frustrating.

done quite a few CCR's and usually gone like a dream. I actually quite like it. Doesn't have some of the bells and whistles that CCC had, but most SME call centres don't need them. Much less headaches than CCC!!!!

CCR on Linux is never going to happen. It's too embedded in MS background stuff (that's what I've been told from some higher sources).
