ccPaa error message on shut down Help!!

Hi all
99.9% of the time when I shut down my computer I get an error message that reads "ccPaa is not responding" has any one encountered this before and if so what can I do to fix it. I'm running windows XP professional. Any insite would be great thanks in advance.

Sorry the message reads ccApp and it askes to end the program now. I also got a CCC.exe error message today upon shut down it asked me to end program as well

CCC.exe is a legit file used by ATI Catalyst Control Center. This is a program through which you can fine tune and customize different display features of your ATI graphics card, or overclock it, or set up programmable function keys which will implement specific settings, as well as also being able to create various profiles for various usage requirements (e.g. to suit the different requirements of various games).
If you do not have an ATI graphics card, then your CCC.exe is probably a malicious virus that has been making the rounds that uses the same name. Google the name to find out more.

The problem is a timing conflict, which is due to the fact that CCAPP.EXE does not unload fast enough from the REGISTRY...

FIX:

1.) Install UPHC Service Manually as described in the TEXT file...

User Profile Hive Cleanup Service

2.) Throw out NORTON... (ccapp.exe is part of NORTON INTERNET SECURITY)... replace with another AntiViral Program

The OP said "ccPaa is not responding" but you know what? I'll bet you're right, Ben! And you're even more right when you say "Throw out NORTON!" I did just that six weeks ago and got rid of the ccApp.exe mess forever! Good catch!
