Hello,

I handle the messaging, Infrastructure and Firewalls for my company and don't get that much "hands on" Cisco time these days. I passed my CCNA three (3) years back, but it recently expired and never was able to take the BSCI to renew and move on to the CCNP.

So, I'm stuck with taking the test over again. I had a 5 Router, 2 SwitchLab that I sold on ebay a few months back, but learned a lot on it. Found the Sybex CCNA (640-801) Study Guide (Fourth Addition) to be very helpful, but I know it's not enough.

Can anyone look over my plan of action below and let me know what you think? I would rather take the time now to learn all the material and sharpen my skills (along with passing it the first time).

- Read the Sybex Book (Covered commands used in each chapter, Questions, review Labs)
- Created Index Cards to help memorize Notes/topics/definitions from the book
- Purchased the new Router Sim Simulation with the CCNA and BSCI (CCNP) Modules
- Ran through all the Standard, Extended, etc.. Labs
- Downloaded the CCNA Course Objectives from Cisco
- Research forums for pointers

What am I missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Scheduled for this Thursday, but can postpone if I'm doubting my effort by Tuesday night.

Thank you.

Rgds,

John

John,

If the Router Sim is the one from Todd Lammle's company, then you are in good shape. It is very similar and helpful to pass the test.

Hey,

I believe so, I got it from RouterSim.com and the labs appear to be the same from his Sybex book.

I also have te CCNA Cert sim. But I have been trying to use the Sim, Book and the real switches and routers at work.

Thanks for the response.

Rgds,

John
