I gave my CCNA Exam 640-607 and I encountered this,

I was very surprised when I wanted to enter the router with the given password ( Enabling router RIP simulation question ) It threw me out and did not accept the given password.

I suspect that there was a technical hinch!!!

Eventually I failed with the score of 809. I am sure I am not alone, can anyone enlighten me on this, please.

hmmm... Well, when I took the exam a little more htan a week ago, there were no router passwords. Actually come to think of it, there might have been one that had a password, but it was just "cisco". They had all the passwords and requirements in that top part of the question with the network diagram. So when you tried to enter priv. exec mode with "enable" the password at the top was not working?

Just to mention,

I did enter the password "cisco", but it did not work, strange?????.

But I would like to know if anyone else had the similar problem?

Yes that is weird. Did you fill out a complaint form about the question? I know that there was another person that was on this forum a while ago that had a problem with the router sim, and filled out a complaint on the question. I think you have to do it right after the test and at the testing center, so it is probably too late now. Honestly, not to say I don't belive you, but it sounds like user error somehow. (caps lock maybe?)

Cisco isn't real clear about which host you use to telnet in.

Pick the host that has a dotted line to the router.

If you don't, you will get really odd behavior out of the simulator.

It took me 10 minutes to figure this out on my test. Good thing I was doing OK on time.
