How hard is it to get through the initial set up of CCME on a 2851 Router using a standard T1 for PSTN connection? I am in a small company that wants to set up about 35 phones. I have supported the GUI side of Call Manager/Unity but not CME. I do not know routers. Am I getting in over my head if I was to say I can do it? Is there a checklist of steps to run through to get through the initial set up? I want to do this so I can learn it but I do not want to jepordize the project.

Put it simply, there are a lot easier things to do on a router than install and configure CCME and CUE. Admittedly, the GUI can help you configure it, but you have to manually TFTP the GUI files up there first. I would highly recommend you seek someone with more experience.

Just follow install guide very carefully and you'll be fine. I think your biggest challenge would be configuring IOS dial plan components like dial-peers, T1 channel groups, basic routing. You definitely need to know basic IOS commands.
