I my current verison of Sympoisum webclient i am unable to use the real time display across my company WAN. Does anyone know if this is corrected or some solution was made in the CC 6.0?

That's a loaded question. If you mean that you are unable to use the RTD's because your network will not support Multi-Cast, or you WAN links can not handle the load, then I have bad news for you. CC6 RTD's are transmitted via either Multi-Cast or Uni-Cast, with the former being the more "LAN friendly". There is no change in the transmission protocols from 5 to 6.

It does sound like a network constraint on your side. I have a customer that is networked, with one web server. All sites can see the RTDs without any problem.

We had a bit of difficulty getting ours to work as the first RTD of the day took a while to connect over the WAN and was often timed out (after a successful first connection all subsequent users' connections were quick).

To fix this, we forced one of the routers to join the multicast group permanently.

Am I right in thinking that you can show these using unicast (I know it's not preferable due to it using a more bandwidth)?

That's incorrect. You can send RTD's from the Web Client Server to client workstations via Unicast. It is a bandwidth hog; however, I have been forced to do it in extreme situations. Namley, the Firewall guys wouldn't let me go out Multi-Cast over the VPN, so I am allowing VPN clients to get RTD's via Unicast.

It's the other way around - SCCS/CC6 to Web Server is multicast. Web Server to client can be either multicast or unicast. If unicast, then the Emergency feature will not work, nor will ADD (Agent Desktop Display).

Anyone who has Communications server 1000 cofiguration and maintenance document ?
I'm a very beginner of Meridian 1 and symposium call center system
I want to study it but don't know where I can find it!
I have no time to take a class(looks like there are always day time classes to be taken) so I want to learn it by my self or e- learning on internet or CD
Thanks very much!

if you register on the Nortel website you will be able to get the documentation, but I suggest that you look into pick-up a class from global knowledge.

Learning some of this stuff on your own, without any Nortel background can be a challenge. The NTPs are more of a "reference book" rather than a "how to" book so it helps to have some basic knowledge.

Thanks very much! Spanton and Iretrievers!
I registered in Notel website and got the documents!
I will try to read some document first then pick a training class.
