Can someone tell me how many CCMA servers can you have attached to 1 CCMS server?

I am thinking we can have multiple since the database is housed on CCMS.

Thoughts?

I believe you would be limited by License Manager to one but that would be a question for Nortel.

I have the question posed to vendor.

They do no know, and are checking with Nortel/Avaya.

Was hoping someone on the forum has done multiple servers.

You can have one CCMA to manage several CCMS. Not sure why you would want to do the reverse.

Real time reporting for offsite location connected over a WAN that can not allow multicast.

I have 9 CCMA's pointing to one CCMS. The is no licensing for CCMA, only CCMS, you call install CCMA as many times as you can afford to buy servers. And there is no limit (I'm sure there is, but no one knows what it is) to how many CCMA's you can point to a CCMS.

Are you going to do ADAM replication? That was why we set up multiple CCMA's.

This is good news to know mte0910.
ADAM replication is a plus.

Our concern was trying to get real time reporting to remote sites, without having to put multicast/unicast over a WAN connection.

We are also considering trying Citrix, or TS app.

Do you use your remote CCMA's for realtime reporting?

Yes, but you will still have to put the MC traffic from the CCMS on the WAN to get it to the CCMA, but at least you can keep the MC/UC from the CCMA local.

It works great, even if you don't have the Adam replication. While we originally had the idea of spreading the CCMA's out all over the place, we found the administration was better for us to make it regional.

The whole key to this is having a single Multi-Cast send address from every CCMS. If you only have one CCMS, then it's easy, but if you are like me and have ten or more, you have to remember the size of the MC conversation will increase with each CCMS you add.
