I'm trying to setup CCM7 to connect to our 3300MXe. When adding the Media server, I click test and the green bar scrolls for a bit before a pop tells me the following:

CFG0044: There was a problem communicating with the PBX. Check the IP address, verify the PBX is online, and that the Mitel MiXML service is installed.

A quick search of the knowedge base has one hit that tells me to:

Check the IP address.
Verifiy the PBX is online.
Check the Mitel MiXML service is running.

Of which I have checked and tested. There is no MiXML service, but there is a Mitel Networks XML service, which is running.

The CCM is v7 and our MXe is MCD 4.2 SP2 PR1, which from the engineering guidlines, IS supported.

We have a working copy of 5.8 still, which is working and I've done a settings comparison, and it looks fine.

Additional information. The CCM is on a Windows 2012 R2 x64 server, with SQL Express 2012.

Is the CCM server and the PBX on the same subnet? If no, is there a firewall between them?

It wasn't, but the subnets were routing. However, I've now placed them in the same subnet, with the same problem. I can telnet fine to the Mitel ports 15373 and 8000.

Might have to change the connection type from MiXML to Direct to PBX. There's a MiCC/PrarieFyre KB article (50326) on how to do this, you'll have to modify the Data Synchronization Service config file.

You may not actually be able to do this on MCD 4.2. Looking at the officially supported release list in the MiCC KB, the supported releases jumps straight from MCD 4.0SP4 to MCD 5.0, skipping 4.2 entirely.

Thats true, I've made the assumption the 4.0 SP4 is the starting base software and would cover everything inbetween up to MCD 5.

May not be the case. 4.0SP4 had some SDS enhancement from 5.0 thrown into it (among other things) to enable larger clusters to be migrated from "classic mode", which is also using the same MiXML and back-end data services stuff that CCM uses.

If it doesn't say MCD 4.2 specifically that usually means it is not supported.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Anyone else and you need to throw it harder.

I've got it working, with the current versions. It doesn't appear to be documented anywhere, but when I tried to do a sync (regardless of the test failing) it got to 9% and failed. A technote appeared under in regards to the error, directing me to Control Panel and the Mitel MiXML item in there. The current IP wasn't selected, so I choose it from the drop down and clicked the start MiXML button. Tried the test button, this passed and then then ran a full sync, this also passed.
