Hello everybody,
my scenario:
CCM 4.1.3 on ibm Pub x346 and Sub X345
SCCP Phones: 7905, 7912, 7960, 7970
Italy

I made my CCM building Sepxxx.cnf.xml files, not caching, because i've noticed they don't use the right information TFTP sends as locale, network, secondary CCM, URL, and so on.

It happens only for 7905 and 7912 phones, not for 7960 or 7970.

I have several Partition and related CSS.

The file builded, for 7905, is 11K, but meanwhile it has been processed by phone, it refuse.

I,ve cutted something in xml file in the part:

clause <member> </member>

as i say to phone to use a blank Partition, et voila, the file reduces its size to 5K, and my phone eat it.

Anyone knows if it is a right behaviour, a bug or my fault???

Thank you in advance for any suggest,

Federico Sirtori

Maybe it's just me, but I do not mess with the .xml files that CCM generates. Potential for way too many issues to happen (such as the ones you're seeing).

If you want the phones to get a blank partition and locale, then you need to go into the web Admin pages (CCMAdmin) and change it that way...there should be no need at ALL to go in and edit the XML files on the TFTP server...

I'm also confused by your first statement:

"I made my CCM building Sepxxx.cnf.xml files, not caching, because i've noticed they don't use the right information TFTP sends as locale, network, secondary CCM, URL, and so on."

All the stuff you said the phones weren't getting...those are all changeable settings in CCMAdmin...am I wrong here?

Now that I'm thinking about it, is this cluster even set up...? By set up, I mean Device Pools configured, CCM Groups configured, etc.? You have to install the correct locale (the default is English-US, I believe, if you want to change it, you download the locale installer for your country...

Yes it is a cluster, working and configured, in all parts i need.

Yes i make my changes from web Admin pages,

Yes i changed a parameter in Enterpris PArameters Advanced TFTP settings to make CCM buiding a non volatile , cached, cnf.xml files, in order to study and verify it.

Another CCM used.

The only thing, the file size...

I have still non patched CCM with 4.1.3 sr1...

I believe the phone is looking for a file of a specific size (I think they changed that awhile ago, someone correct me if I'm wrong, I think it was the same time they made the phone loads security so no one could edit the binary code). So, if the file is over a certain size, it won't get its configuration file.

If your cluster is configured...then the next step I would do is 1) un-edit the file you configured and 2) check your DHCP server and see if it's set up for option 150, so the phones get their TFTP server address from that. That's mandatory, you must set that up (either option 150 or option 66, I think) so the phones know where to go to get their config file.
