CCM Cluster install

I have a 3.3(3) SR2 Publisher and I'd like to install a subscriber. Is there a reg hack that will allow me to change the CCM version on the publisher temporarily while I install the subscriber? Is this necessary or will CCM allow me to install CCM 3.3.3 base on the subscriber then run the SR2 patch?
