Hello all, hope all is well. For one, just want to tell everyone to keep up the good work, it's not everyday that you see so many people working together to help each other. My question....I'm 21 and preparing for my CCIE written exam. I have the Cisco Press CCIE Routing and Switching exam guide as well as the exam cram with the intention of studying these books and spending some extra lab time daily in the lab. Has anyone taken this recently? If so is there any insight or pointers that you can give me for preparation? Thanks to everyone. I'm taking Security+ on Tuesday 11-11-03 to get some security under my belt. I'll take CCSP sometime in the future as well.

Drae..

I'm also studying for CCIE written Routing and Switching (scheduled in December), just finished CCNP last month. I'm using the CCIE Exam Certification Guide and will most likely use Boson Exams for preparation. I work directly testing and configuring Cisco routers and switches, so hand's on is not a problem. I'd like to hear any feedback also anyone that might have more insight.

The CCIE written Routing and Switching guide is not nearly enough resource material needed for the CCIE written. You should also read

Routing TCP/IP Vol I & II
LAN Switching

These three are the core of the test but there are many other books that will benefit as well. Just dont count on being able to pass it after reading just that one book.
