I don't think is just 1 book that will take you through that exam. That particular exam has a large pool of questions. 1 Book that is a must to get would be : TCP/IP v1 by Jeff Doyle. Check out the objectives for the test on cisco's site and look at the book recommendations there. IMHO, the study guides that are on the market today are weak and don't go into as much information as you will need. I had plenty of questions on that test that I did not see in any study guide.
Again, IMHO, there is no easy road to CCIE. It's not as easy as CCNA or CCNP. It will require lots of reading/studying/practicing. Good luck on your journey.
hi.
taraporter is right. there is no "one book" for ccie. i would suggest to go to Borders or any of the big bookstores and browse thru the shelves. find the one that you feel is right for you. for me, i always buy cisco press books bcoz it comes straight from the "horses mouth". books from sybex suck as the take the contents from cisco press and just put the loser Todd lames name on it and sell it. go to
and do a serach for ccie. they have lots of books there for you. i just started studying for my ccie also. the first ccie book i got is ccie practical studies. isbn# 1587200023. the best places to buy books would be
just put the isbn #s that you want and it will find the lowest price for you. it searches 34 bookstores and finds the best deal. i just finished my ccna and advance routing. just finished the remote access class this week and planning to take the test on jun 10. the only studying material i have ever purchased are what is required for the class and read the cisco academy course. also having routers helps also.
--good luck with your studies and pursuing your ccie track!!!
