I have to get my CCDA to help me become more rounded. I have my CCNA and CIPT and have worked closely with the AAVID solution and less on routing and switching. Is there any sites that will help me study for the CCDA. I have the Sybex book.

Top DOwn Network Design from Cisco press is one of the books they pull from very heavily.

has some stuff that applies.

The CCDA is one of the tougher "entry" certs not some much from a technical perspective but just from the amount of stuff you need to remember. I had 4 case studies on my test and some of the question are down at the 6" level..ugh..

Make sure you can pick apart a case study and not get too lost in the details. One trick I did was to read the case study and make ALOT of notes to avoid having to keep going back to the text. You can save quite a bit of time that way.

Hi, Id agree with you I took it only recently and what a pain. Although I passed with 890 it still was really long winded and lots of reading is needed as you are presented with scenario after scenario. I got the official CISCO self study with the additional CISCO examination prep book and BOSON software to do the exam and all of these where good. I found it easier though when reading books like that to skip the case study and move on until you understand mostly whats going on and then play about with a few case studies before you crack on with the exam.

To you guys taking the CCDA a couple of pointers

1. The CCDA is a difficult exam, probably harder than the CCNP ones so give it respect

2. Concentrate on your case study expertise. You will be set around 5 different case studies with about 25 questions on the exam relating to details from those case studies. The case studies will take about 5 minutes to read each but they are difficult to take in. Best thing to do is to read the question so you understand what they are asking, then read the case study looking for the section(s) relating to the question

3. Understand your ATM, Frame Relay, and X.25 theory

Hope this has helped !

Daniel,

I just took the CCDA got a 805. There were about 2 questions regarding apple networking that screw me up! I will agree with DanielBowen ccda is harder then ccnp exams. Can't wait for the CCDP.

CCDP is a killer by the look of it - could take up to six months to pass !

I want to pass it, too... pray for me... I'm going to take it tomorrow... relevant and permissible details available when I recover...

I passed it , thanks for the prayers... relevant and permissible details follow:

The test was... D'oh!

"You may not disclose the Exam questions or answers or discuss any of the contents of the Exam Materials with any person, without prior written approval of Cisco... Violation of any of these provisions will cause irreparable harm to Cisco for which monetary remedies may be inadequate..."

I take it to mean they'll cut out certain body parts I need to reproduce... :-(

Uaaa...I´ll try it today!! I hope the boson tests prepared me for the exam. I´ll be frustrated, if I fail because I invested lots of hours in learning.
