Hey all- Wondering if anyone has any thoughts around this. We are going to be upgrading our SCCS5 to CCMS6. We will be replacing hardware as part of the upgrade. We are thinking about using HP blade servers. Does anyone out there use blade servers? We asked Nortel if they were supported and basically were told if they meet minimum server requirements we should be OK. So not a direct answer in my mind. Just wanted to see if anyone was living this.

Secondly do you know if servers running in a virtual environment would be supported? Haven't asked Nortel yet, just wanted to see if anyone is currently running this way.

Any comments, as always, are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
PMoggs

I can't answer your first issue, but the second is almost certainly NO.

Thanks Miles. I tend to agree, but hey ya never know if someone was running it. My 2nd question would be it may not be suppprted but would it work?

I'm not familiar with the Blade-Server configuration but I would think "it should work" but if it came down to support and the hardware was to blame -- then you're SOL for that.

As for Virtual Servers---for CC6.0 (and previous releases) any server found in virtual server was not supported...

Will that change? Maybe for CC7 or higher as MS is moving to win2008...but never a sure thing yet.

WE just put in two HP blades for one of our customers and it is running great no issues nice little server in my opinion. The biggest thing is our customer is happy LOL
