Category updation while cube recreation 1

Hi,
What happens to categories when you recreate the power cube? Do they get recreated too or new cube gets created on top of old categories?
What happens to categories if instead of recreating we update the cube?

by default categories are regenerated on each cube update.old categories which are no longer needed remain in the model until you either manually remove them or run clean house.
by default the cube is recreated from scratch every time.

the 'update cube' option is a quick way to update the cube with non-data changes, eg changing of labels, drill through reports etc. it will not add new data, change dimensions etc
