I've read quite a few messages about this, but I am still struggling.

Basically I am wanting to set up a catch all e-mail address, which will forward on to the administrator.

Our mail is routed through an ISP providing it has the correct domain suffix (e.g default.com), we then log on and pick up the mail via our exchange server and distribute internally.

The problem is that any wrongly addressed e-mails are being bounced by our exchange server.

We are running Exchange 5.5, any ideas of how I can get this running?

I have looked at the SMTP Event sink solution on the Microsoft Knowledge base, however this is for Exchange 2000.

and the IP address of the exchange server is 10.0.0.2?

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!

Would now check that the user you are logged on to the domain as has access rights to configure \ administer the exchange server.

Definately have sufficient rights, I'm logged on as administrator

I assume you are logged on as the domain administrator and not a local one. Also check that the domain administrator is a member of Exchange Configurers and Exchange Admins groups.

Try putting the Server Name instead of server's ip address.

furious 5 I cannot connect to my exchange server 5.5 when I tried to access it going through start, programs, microsoft exchange, Exchange 5.5 administrator, then typing in the name of server or ip. I have check to verify that I am part of the exchange admins group by joining domain administrator to the exchange groups. What else can I do to access exchange 5.5 administrator.

Did you ever try just logging directly into the Exchange server itself? Like, at the console?

Just a little remark furious5, check your Adminstrator rights an membership, it is not because you are Administrator that you would have rights to Exchange Admin, you have to be member of the Exchange Admin Group.
