Catastrophic Failure when opening opening Excel App

Hi,

I have an excel application which contains a form which has RichTextbox in it.

I have created a Template from which Workbooks will be created for users. I have a situation where in the workbook works fine in all machines except one laptop. All the machines have the same configuration.

In the particular laptop when i click the button which opens the form that contains the Richtext box it comes up with a

"Sytem Error" Catastrophic failure error.

The machine contians all the references which are required for including the richtext and all other components.
I created a sample form which contains a Richtext in the laptop and that workbook works fine.

Only the Workbook created using the template doesn't work. It works in all other laptops.

I am not able to figure out why it is happening in that particular laptop.

I have a similar yet opposite issue with my program in that my forms open on my pc (where I developed them) yet generates catastrophic errors on all other pcs!! I am still looking.

Hi,

I found out what was creating the problem.
The version of the Richtext OCX control in the testing laptops/pc were of older version. I changed them and it worked fine.

Also look into the article Q181854 in Microsoft Knowledge Base. This contains the fix for some Controll Installation Problems.
