I have a Catalyst 2950. I am trying to set it up for DHCP. Does anyone know how to do this? I have a router and Cox high speed internet.

Thanks.

As in you want it to be a DHCP server? or client?

I want to set it up to pull an IP from my router. I don't know what you mean by server or client...

Well, this may seem a little odd, but according to the Cisco website, you dont have to configure anything. If the switch boots up without an IP address, it will search for a DHCP server and obtain an IP address.

Havent tested it, I have always put an IP in a switch.

Also, just so you know, the switch does NOT need an IP address to function.

I found all this here:
