Catalyst 3750 port issue

Hi all,
First off im new to Cisco products and now have one of my first issues.
I have a single port that is causing me problems on one of our switches. This is what I see issuing a sh int status:
Gi1/0/48 monitoring 1 a-full a-1000 10/100/1000BaseTX

All other ports say connected or notconnect. What the heck does monitoring mean and why is the port dead to me? Whatever I plug into it is unable to send or receive. I tried a shutdown no shutdown to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated.

no monitor session(number)
after doing a show monitor to determine what was being monitored.

JIC someone else had the issue.

It means the port is probably configured as a SPAN port. Post a copy of "show run int Gi1/0/48
