Catalyst 2950 connected hosts hang 1

Hi

Does anyone know of any circumstances where hosts attached to a cat 2950 would hang and have to be rebooted, and where the cause is within the switch?

I have a colleague who has installed several and is experiencing this problem, plus Novell server connection problems.

I suspect the problem lies elsewhere, but this is a sanity check

Go onto the interfaces where the hosts are and issue a spanning-tree portfast. This will disable spanning tree computation for the host port.

You may also want to check for speed/duplex mis-match. Check the trunks to make sure it is not passing any errors. Thanks,
