I want to check that my switches' current config is setup properly. I would appreciate if you guys could check out my config.

I'm having DHCP lease issues where my DHCP server is reporting BAD ADDRESS like crazy. I read that I should check to see if ARP cache is activated on the switch and to disable it. I also wanted to make sure that this config is setup properly for maximum Ghost Multicasting speed.

Here is a quick run down along with my config.

Nomadix WiFi Gateway (port 43)
Win 2003 DHCP Server (port 44)
Netgear 5 Port GB Switch p/n - GS105 (port 45)
Linksys SRW2024(port 46)
Microsoft ISA Server (connected to port 47)
Cisco 1721 Router (connected to port 48)

Does anyone know the command to reset my switch back to factory defaults?

Config looks ok to me . To get back to defaults , just use "clear config all" . I would look at the dhcp server , config looks ok. Never have had any kind of dhcp issues with a catos box.

I've not only looked at the DHCP server, I've replaced the entire server with a new WIN2k3 server hoping the would solve the problem. I've even plugged the server into another port on my switch and im still having issues with DHCP. I'm only getting BAD_ADDRESSes when I attempt to Ghost my PC's using Ghost multicast.

The Ghost multicast server is also the DHCP server. I execute a multicast ghost session from the Ghost/DHCP server and the Ghost server sets my PC's to boot to PCDOS. The PCs then connect to the Ghost server using NDIS2 drivers that i've specified on the Ghost console. Since all my PCs are indenticle, i'm able to use one NDIS2 driver for the entire center. As i've done for the past 3 years. It's at this point when most of the PC's connect to the Ghost server with no problems. But for some reason there are few PC's that pop up with the following error message;

Abort 19113 Unable to start TCP/IP
Can't find DHCP server
Possible network setup problem

This is when I check the DHCP server for leases and see the BAD_ADDRESS entries all over the place.

I hope this clears things up a bit. I've been trying solve this problem for ove 6 months now and i'm baffled. I called Symantec and they said it had somthing to do with my network setup.

My thoughts at this point was to reset my Cisco switches and disconnect any unnecessary equipment. I was even thinking of moving to static IP's but this will not prevent the Ghost console from needing DHCP when Ghostcasting my entore center.

Any other thoughts on this one folks?

Hey Viper,

I went ahead and cleared the config and attempted to reset the switch name and IP. Now when I type a "sh conf" the list that displays is much less detailed than before. Can you please have a look at this conf and tell me if we're good. So far everything seems to be ok but I haven't tried Ghosting yet. I appreciate it.

for a simple config it looks fine with everything in vlan 1 .Also if you want to look at everything in the config and not just the non default config use "show config all"

Thanks Viper,

Everything seems to be running ok for now.. I still haven't Ghosted anything yet.
