I would like to know how to reuse a catalog tape for other backup's. I have tried the bpexpdate and the deasignbyid commands but NutBackup still freezes the tape as soon as it tries to use it. I have the TAR overwrite option in the bpconf file also. Any Ideas? I would rather have these tapes back in rotation rather than stuck in the NetBackup pool.

See FAQ #1 that I wrote up concerning deleting images. Then, after it has been expired, deleted etc, delete the tape and add it back in.

I deleted one last night and as soon as NBU tried to use the tape it froze it. The log says that it still sees the catalog on it. Any other ideas?

Did you expire the images, delete the label etc?

Yep. I just found the Tech note on it. I was missing the bplabel command. Thanks for the help.
