Catalog backups

As extra security I am thinking of copying the netbackup catalogs to disk on another server (using rcp rather than netbackup to do it).
Will this work ie. would I be able to restore the catalogs from this source if all other backups of the catalog were lost?

Hi,
This was my conern which I raised with Veritas Technical support and they confirmed to me that manually copying the catalog files will not be useful should you require to restore as Veritas Netbackup will only recognise the catalog that is backed up by Veritas.

Any other hints..pls let me know.

Hi,

Do a man on bpbackupdb and use the -dpath option. I do this to tape to create a database backup to send off with my weekly dups.
