I have a old Cat5K running to a cat2900 via 100MB Multimode fiber. I am seeing a lot of collisions and runt frames on the link which additioanlly reports very slow Internet access times. This link is set to half duplex and the distance seems to be within 400 meters. What are the usual suspects with a link like this reporting these kinds of errors? Any insights would be great. It's been a while.

Thanks

Half duplex? check for collisions on the link. Force the interface to full duplex on the 2900 & the 5500?

You answered your own question , any half duplex link will have errors and collisions. Make both ends full/duplex , this will greatly speed things up.
