I cannot get ATM running between a Cat 5000 with a 1 port ATM card and a Centillion 100 with 4 port OC3 card. I have a PC with a 3COM ATM card attached to the C100 and the LANE pvcs come up on it when I put LANE on the C100. The C100 shows cells going but no receives, other than a lot of errors on the 'unknown vpi/vci'. The CAT reports '%ATM-3-FAILCREATEVC: ATM failed to create VC(VCD=1, VPI=0, VCI
=5) on Interface ATM0, (Cause of the failure: Failed to have the driver to accept the VC) when a ILMI or QSAAL vc is attempted. I changed cables and ports on the C100 - I can get the PC to work with any port but not the cat. I tried both scrambling and none, and UNI3.0, UNI3.1, and AUTO on the C100. I cannot find any great doc on the CAT commands, but I fiddled with various ATM options and did not find one that works. Maybe there is a combination that works - has anyone done this or heard of anyone who has?

Here are displays from the CAT:

ATM#

Thanks for the info - I found the answer. I took the C100 to a lab at work and it instantly worked with the ATM blade in the Cat5000 there! The only difference was that the ATM-blade-code was at a lower level in the CAT at work. I downloaded the lower-level code into MY cat ATM blade, and voila - the ATM sessions immediately came up. I conclude from all this that the 'newer' code in the Cisco ATM blade was buggy (unlikely) or that it somehow got corrupted and needed a reload to get it going. This blade was purchased on ebay - I am not sure of the history of the code in it. It has been working without any sign of a problem for over a month now, so I think it is fine.
Thanks for your help!

RouterDroid,
I am trying to do the same thing, i.e. go from a Cat 5000 to a Centillion 100. You have solved your problem but you didn't list the versions of firmware or software that worked for you. Those would be helpful for me to know so I wouldn't have to reinvent the wheel. Also, any other helpful advice or gotchas that you found would be of value.
thanks in advance.
