I may not be looking in the correct place, or using the correct command, but I am looking at errors on the ports of a 2948 Switch, and it has CAT OS on it. I am seeing some FCS errors, Undersize, runts, etc. on these switches, but I can't tell the percentage of packets that are actually causing an error as compared to those that aren't.

Is there a way to show the number of packets sent and received? Thanks.

Do a "show counters slot/port" ,this gives you a much wider view of the ports , packets, errors etc.... .

Thanks for the post. Unfortunately I tried this and it didn't work. I did a show ? and it didn't have a counters command there. I am kind of perplexed right now.

I believe the command is "show mac" on a CatOS switch, at least on the versions of CatOS that I've used.

If it is plain layer 2 2948 , show counters should work for any port , just tried on a 2948 and this will give you the stats you are looking for , you must be in enable mode to use the command .
