What are the "official" specs for Cat 5 wire?

In other words, how many feet (or meters) for 100 Mb/s

How many feet for 10 Mb/s

thanks,
Mike

at 100 meg 1000 meters or 328 feet
at 10 meg 1000 meters or 328 feet

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Thanks!

Wouldn't the spec for 10 allow greater length? (as opposed to 100)?

As Scotty says "You cannot change the laws of physics". :)

the 100 meter limitiation is due to signal degradation which would be the same for 10 or 100.

The official specs are:

90 meters installation cable (patchpanel to Wall outlet)
10 meters (added) patchcable on both sides
